Taking a break from the darkness that is everywhere now to write about an upcoming celestial event. A brief darkness will descend on parts of our Earth and block the light when the sun is covered by the Moon, on April 8, 2024. It will be a total solar eclipse.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby obscuring the view of the Sun from a small part of the Earth, totally or partially. ~Wikipedia
Since I was a little girl I loved to look at the night sky. My uncle was a NASA engineer and our whole family was nuts about astronomy. When my kids were young I used to drive 15 miles away from the city so they could see the night sky without the city lights obscuring the view, especially to see the Perseid and Leonid meteor showers and comets that show up in our orbit some times.
So I am really glad there’s going to be a total solar eclipse this year that will cross the USA in a North East path starting in Texas and ending in Maine. Here’s a map of the path of the eclipse.
A total of 13 states will have parts that will be engulfed in darkness for a while during the totality, or total eclipse. I’m a T Shirt designer, so I made shirts for people living in all those states. And shirts that celebrate the event with no location marked for those who just want a souvenir of a grand celestial event.
We have California friends who are driving all the way to Texas to see the eclipse. And although I live in Texas, I live way up North in the Panhandle, so will have to drive a ways to see it. Probably will drive down to Fort Worth. Can’t wait! So great to have something to look forward to in this dark time.
Here are all 14 shirts. The design is available in 7 styles for every shirt. Just click on the brand name, Astronomy Designs HBurns, to see all of them. For some reason Amazon requires me to tell you that I make money from the purchase of my shirts thru my links. (Gee Amazon, I’m sure they would never figure that out on their own.)

Ending with one of my favorite Beatles’ songs. One of George Harrison’s finest. Nice to think about the sun coming out after a long dark winter. Or after an eclipse. ❤️
Love the post, love the eclipse - and the shirts are amazing!!! Brilliant items! I'll have to check out my best vantage point for the sighting as well...
Amazing that it is the perfect fit...makes you wonder what that moon really is, no? Just what the heck is going on up there?
here's another song to celebrate and mark the event - by my favorite jazz artist of all time...shirt-design inspired! XO
