Beautiful piece on your father.

Its without saying that those who survive the war carry the burden of peace in a world obsessed by conflict for endless greed that power vacuum of loss of life creates.

A true hero is not the one that wins the war but saves the most lives.

and one is more than none.

What a heartfelt tribute to an extraordinary, and also extra ordinary man.

Was it Patton who said, "We fought the wrong enemy" before he was most likely killed?

I woke up this morning thinking about the floods in Valencia, because I'd just heard from my friend there that she and her husband are okay. I stayed in Valencia for three weeks in 2019, before all hell broke loose. This same friend arranged to get the shots as soon as possible in 2021. When they visited in 2022, her husband was recovering from a heart attack and her friend, who was here, was caring for an ex- with resurgent cancer. I'd just found out about my BiL's sudden stage-4 pancreatic cancer. I mentioned the possible connection to the shot and she said, "Why didn't you tell us before?" But then dismissed it.

As I wonder whether to tell her about weather weapons, I thought that people have two choices. They can believe that tragedies couldn't have been prevented, are random acts of nature, no one's fault, and authorities are incompetent or corrupt but not malevolent. Or they can realize they've been duped and they participated or gave acquiescence to an act of malevolence, making the death of their loved one, not just meaningless, but their fault. Who among us wouldn't choose the first?

Somewhere, we need a third option, a way in which good people who've been misled are heroes--not for their results but because they illustrate so clearly that there is no way to live with integrity as an individual under malevolent rulers. From my research, I agree with Patton that the US was on the wrong side. Does that make your dad less of a hero? Not if his actions led you to question the oligarchs. I think he's right that Israel vs. the rest of the world, most immediately represented by their Arab neighbors, is a spiritual battle that will be the last. Like the previous world wars that were fought for Israel, the US and Trump are on the side of empire, not sovereignty. Yet I'm certain this choice is getting us faster to the turning point, that's been 3500 years in the making. I hope that makes sense.

Yes it totally makes sense. My Dad absolutely understood world history and that armies are engaged in fights set up by oligarchs...he was going to be a journalist before he enlisted and he was a violin player, not a fighter at all really. (also he was a certified genius polyglot) Regardng Valencia, I stayed there for a week in early 2015 and fell in love. If we move back to Europe it would be to Spain and probably there. We love everywhere in Spain though, so hard choice. it's always hard to know what to tell others about the truth of their slavery and all it entails...I have gotten blowback many times for doing so....thank you for your thoughtful comment. ❤️💕❤️

Very well written essay Heather B, maybe your best work to date here.

Your father is a hero to me too, I'm sure though he was a bit older we would of had much to talk about. I would have loved your family as my next door neighbors, and I will take screenshots of your essay to try to preserve it, it is so memorable. An excellent personal history.

PS: the medal memorial you made to your father is outstanding - glare and all. Glare can only be minimized by shooting your final image thru a (borrowed?) polarizing photographic lens, maybe polarized grey sunglasses will work too, 98% glare gone. Experiment.

Thank you so much! I will see what I can do about the glare...Everyone loved my Dad and I'm sure you would have too. ❤️💕❤️

PPS It is the father bloodline that is always carried in a newborn child, regardless of boy or girl. He really is within you, so designed by our Creator the Christ , Jesus.
