Hah daylight savings time.

My favourite one.

So if you add up that you lose an hour 6 months of your life and leap years take a fourth of a day and times that by how many years you are ....

Does that equate to everyone over 40 being two weeks younger than they actually are?

Queensland does not observe daylight saving to prevent curtains from fading is a well-known anecdote, often cited as a humorous justification for the state's stance. This notion is linked to former Queensland Premier Joh Bjelke-Petersen, who reportedly argued that daylight saving would fade curtains and confuse milking cows

Bhavana Lymworth's avatar

Not wanting to fade curtains...?!? Bwaaa hahahaha, I love it! I was so worried about that!

And you know how difficult confused cows can be.

Heather B's avatar

Queensland has a sense of humor! Confuse the cows, good one. ❤️💕

I think that might be true, though. Animals go by daylight IMO. Not by fake stuff people have made up.

PS Heather, that degree in healthy healing might not be honoured by anyone, but I am sure you do your deal with it!

Heather B's avatar

It has helped me so much in my life. But Rockefeller medicine has a strong hold on most. 💕

only go to regular doc if all else fails. I go to the vet with my dog more than I go myself. Trying for her, too, but it is not so easy, and I am afraid I might poison her.

Heather B's avatar

Same here as far as going to the vet more often. I read holistic vet newsletters for clues, and my vet lets me get by with no vaxes for her, even wrote me an exemption letter for the rabies one because she had seizures on 2 different ones. But it is more difficult since they can't talk...

INGRID C DURDEN's avatar

yes me too. thankfully our vet will first test. when I tell him that she is not well after a shot, he might just give the exemption. We only do the mandatory rabies. He also knows I am not a cortisone and antibiotic person, so he tries to give meds that fit my 'religion'. He is also very handsome LOL. I drive 3 towns over, about 50 miles, even though there are 4 vets in town... all jabbies. No entrance, or not without mask, etc. Our vet had no restrictions but a table in front of the counter so you would not breathe right into the receptionist's face. They know I come from a ways, and always have made space even in a very full day, if I show up unannounced. That is very much appreciated. All 3 vets that use the building are great - the helpers are not always too good but so be it!

The memes made me laugh out loud. I especially enjoyed the little tampon ghosts. What a clever idea!

Heather B's avatar

Glad you enjoyed. I love that meme too....💕

You and I wrote each other here last year about this. This was my third year to not comply, and I intend to keep it up. The person I continuously inconvenience most is myself, ie, I showed up twice an hour early for my physio appointment, and another one or two similar incidents, until I got into the swing of being, as I see it, the only one on real time, or sun time, my two names for it. I call the psyop time out there time. It forces me to figure out timing on a continual basis. I have one person in my life who takes it into account when making plans with me -- and she and I already have to juggle our 2 hour timezone difference. The amount of juggling can feel cumbersome, but it is totally worth it to me TO NOT COMPLY WITH AN ARBITRARY PUBLIC DECREE THAT IS PURE NONSENSE. Look at the sky: is the sun overhead at noon? No, it is at the 11 a.m. position in out there time. What else do you need to know? I live on this earth, my relationship to time is an artifice that is agreed upon for many good reasons that make sense. Leave it alone and leave me alone, you meddling wankers.

Okay, I wrote this before reading your post, now I will go enjoy the memont...ahh... good ones! Hearty chuckling out loud at 4 am sun time is a great way to start the day. Thank you!

Hats off to you! That takes amazing commitment. It's way past time we did away with the nonsense.

Bhavana Lymworth's avatar

Thanks! It actually infuriates my adult son if i even mention 'my' time. I think my friends just silently chalk it up to my usual quirkiness.

My brain says "all this math is good for us".

Joanie Higgs's avatar

I might just try to do the same!

Bhavana Lymworth's avatar

Watch out, once you do, you will love it. No clock changes is pretty great....

INGRID C DURDEN's avatar

I do it for a while, but with family overseas it is not easy - after a few weeks we get in the line anyways. Sleeping an hour extra is usually less of a problem than sleeping an hour less!

Heather B's avatar

I get it, I really do. I'm retired so I just wake up and go to sleep when I want, all the time. It's ridiculous! Glad you enjoyed the memes! 💕

Joanie Higgs's avatar

Great memes as ev, Heth! Especially Cave Paintings and Green Tea.

Heather B's avatar

Thank you! Hardly anyone calls me Heth...and it always makes me laugh. Some men have called me H at work though. 💕

Joanie Higgs's avatar

I did it just to rhyme with "ev", thinking myself very clever!

Heather B's avatar

You are very clever, all the time! 💕

Beach chicken…😂! That’s hilarious! Thank you for sharing your seemingly infinite collection of memes Miss Heather. 🙏💖

Heather B's avatar

Thank you! I actually once fed my kids mashed potatoes with Cream of Chicken soup over it like gravy, and called it Chicken Surprise. After that I realized they will eat anything with the word "surprise" in the title. Creativity in recipes ensued...💕

There are a few states that don't go along with the crap. Arizona is one, and part of Indiana. I think may be Hawaii, and last year I thought Alabama quit. Gov. Kemp promised to stop it but was not allowed to keep the summer time, and decided to wait till all states that requested it, will be allowed to do so. Good luck. I hope he keeps it on winter time now! He was allowed to do that, but we voted for the summer time...

That Indian proverb is absolutely right. Even at a time before electricity, changing the clock is useless. A Belgian news agency just published an article of how GOOD it is for you to do it! I have not read it, must be by a quack.

I feel sorry for farmers who will have to get up an hour earlier to feed the animals. Thankfully mine go with the hours of the school bus, but they will still be whining an hour early for sure.

My ex had it happen a few times, that he lost an hour of sleep in early shift and then had to work an hour extra during the night shift. So much fun. I leave the car clock on summer time.

Govt. Absolutely. Password. LOLOL. Finally ended up with a cuss word with a capital and then still needed a number.

Heather B's avatar

I never change my car clock since I don't know how. I think it's on normal time? I use my phone for a clock when I go out. I wish I could move to Hawaii which doesn't change their time....but they were covid nazis so.... Thanks for stopping by, Ingrid. 💕

I lived in AZ for a while. When my husband passed away I thought about moving back, but I have a cabin in the woods here in GA and at the time, some good friends. Now, the price of real estate is so high I could no longer afford, and the place where I lived is overrun by Calicommies. Lots of the cacti have been destroyed even though forbidden by law, and golf terrains left and right. In the desert. And then complain the water is up

Heather B's avatar

"golf terrains left and right. In the desert. And then complain the water is up" Just shows how ridiculous humans are sometimes...

Amaterasu Solar's avatar

As I don't have much at all that is set to clocks, when They monkey with the hour, I rather ignore it. It may seem like I'm going to bed earlier (or later, depending on the direction of the shift), but it's the same time every time, for Me.

Craving Ratio's avatar

I like the fall daylight stealing time better than the spring one. I like getting the hour back that was robbed from me. Just don't change it ever again.

Hope you are well!

Yolanda Pritam Hari's avatar

You are so right Heather, how it messes us up for weeks, and how the car clock is hardly ever right. NOW i get to subtract an hour and 20 minutes from the time it shows - or is it MINUS 20 minutes... - because my car clock likes to speed up one minute at a time. Oh nooooooo

Heather B's avatar

Oh no that would drive me crazy. I just don't use the clock. 💕

This lil' Indian agrees with that old Indian in the meme. Absolutely bonkers, and another way to mess with our nature (biology). Thanks for laying out the harms and insanity, Heather!

Another great meme post as usual.. And I can relate to several of the issues with time change...even in gaining an hour it throws me off.. Especially at bed time when I'll be ready for bed at 8:30 rather than 9:30..

Heather B's avatar

Thank you! Yes the body hates having an abrupt change like that. Just pick a time and stick to it is my stance. 💕

MusicMan's avatar

We don’t get an extra hour of sleep. I still sleep 7 hours. No matter how they shift the clocks. That’s just a PR slogan. Yeah all this back and forth is stupid. It’s just a game for humans. This nonsense has no effect on nature.
