I was reading the comments section on another Substack and someone escaped hospital protocols that were killing them by transferring to hospice where they were able to fully recover once off the “hospital treatment plan.”

My brother who is a hospice nurse responded to one of his hospice patients that got nervous during early covidcon. The patient had COPD, diabetes and serious kidney issues and thought he also had covid so he went to a hospital. My brother wanted to give him nebulized (aerosol basically) Ativan to help with anxiety but the hospital wouldn't allow that cuz it could spread covid! My brother finally convinced him to leave the hospital to be treated correctly. My brother was able to keep him going and out of the hospital for the next 3 months.
This was already good advice before the scamdemic. It is also good advice for retirement homes. If you know people in hospital or retirement home, go there a few times a week, if only for a few minutes, until someone sees you visiting is enough. We had several elderly ladies at church like this, and now one in hospital. The staff knows your loved ones are being checked up on. Of course during the scam it was way harder, but I know still a few who probably saved the lives of their loved ones.

I'm so sorry, Heather. What a nightmare. The line about heaven welcoming him is so callous, as if it was your fear and not their mal-intent that had gotten him there. Interesting about the FEMA doctors. I suspect that was also true for my mom in the SNF that had the massive outbreak right when they reopened to visitors and my daughters and I had flown to see her. Her life had been so reduced by that time, with their hallway bingo and meals in front of isolated TVs, that I couldn't be too sorry. But such an awful way to go, and so much worse for your brother. Yet I'm sure they were right and he is in a good place now.
Yes, I meant to say how sorry I am that you had to go through all of that!!! Several of my relatives (including my father) passed away in the 1980’s - all from heart disease. My father was 43. He had a triple bypass and one month later went into cardiac arrest. That was the catalyst for me distrusting not just doctors but practically anyone who called themselves an authority on any subject.
So sorry you lost your Father at such a young age. Heartbreaking at any age but so young...awful. I've felt like an orphan since my Dad died. In 2005. I think doctors are good for diagnosis and for fixing bones. Otherwise, naturopaths and herbalists are a better health path. ❤️

I know that cruel treatment is occurring in hospitals and elderly care homes but I just cannot understand how anyone could be so disgusting. How can one treat vulnerable and scared people in such a inhumane manner. I cannot believe the world I wake up in. Absolutely painful to finally wake up and see what is really happening.
As I mentioned above, almost all of my relatives on my father’s side have passed away due to heart disease (actually a genetic marker for plaque buildup in the arteries as my father found out in his early 30’s while going through a complete work up at Cleveland Clinic).

My friend who was in the Dartmouth hospital for most of July experienced the lack of sleep and constant noise you mentioned. It seems that hospitals treat patients like machines, and make them suffer from the rigid schedules that require frequent wakeups. Fortunately my friend has a good advocate who got her out of there. I then cared for her at home for a week. She had such a huge sleep debt that one night she slept for 15 hours, and 12 hours another night.
One time I slept for 28 hours when I got home from a stay...no sleep for days there. That was kind of you to care for your friend. Thanks for sharing. 💕
